The City of Bath Male Choir will be visiting Cornwall next Friday May 1 to May 3 taking part in the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival for the first time with various performances across Cornwall as part of the weekend. The City of Bath Male Choir are one of the best-loved male choirs in England. Founded by Bath music-man Grenville Jones in 2007, they have toured Europe and visited the States – Boston and Nashville – as well as being the only amateur English male choir to visit Japan in 2014. Their reputation was enhanced in their early years when they reached the finals of a national televised singing competition called ‘Last Choir Standing’. This hugely popular entertainment show was on the main BBC1 television channel on Saturday evenings and was subsequently broadcast across the world. Bath Male Choir reached the finals singing to an audience of an estimated 13 million viewers. The boys from Bath will be staying in Newquay for the duration of the weekend and taking part in performances as part of the Festival across Cornwall… They will be on stage on Friday evening in Truro Cathedral for the International Gala Concert, the launch of the Festival, and have other performances on Saturday evening, again in Truro Cathedral for the Category II Competition, and Sunday evening at St Andrew’s Church, Redruth, for a Regional Gala Concert.
