OPEN NIGHTS in SEPTEMBER

If you live in or around the Bath area and have always wondered what it would like to sing in a choir - now is your chance. From September Bath Male Choir changes its rehearsal venue to St Barts Church - between Oldfield Park and Bear Flat in King Edward Road. We will also then become a TUESDAY night rehearsal choir - every week from 7.45pm to 9.30pm.

The OPEN NIGHTS are on Tuesday Sept 7th, 14th and 21st. Come along and give it a try. If you then want to join, Grenville will give you a simple voice test.

Check out the concerts page for details of our remaining 2010 appearances - including our Annual Concert which this year is at the Guildhall, Bath on Saturday October 30th

The City of Bath Male Choir was founded in February 2006 by Grenville Jones. This is a Choir that is making a BIG sound and gaining a huge reputation. You may have been one of the millions of TV viewers who saw them on the BBC’s Last Choir Standing TV show in August 2008. Bath Male Choir reached 5th place.

You will find on this website full details of our up coming 'concerts'. The Choir now totals over 90 singers, the 'Wall of Sound' is getting bigger and bigger! Grenville has proved that, contrary to public belief, MEN DO SING!

In February Bath Male Choir(and THE Bath Chorus, Grenville's mixed-voice choir) sang at Wells Cathedral supporting 'Help for Heroes' when over £2,000 was raised.

Full houses all the way

2009 concerts were to packed churches and concert halls around the UK, many selling out weeks in advance and raising thousands of pounds for various charities. The year started at Wiltshire Music Centre in February, then Portishead in March, Queens Hall Taunton and Downside Theatre in April (raising £2,000 for the Children's Hospice South West) St Patrick's RC Church, Bristol in May and Vicarage Rd Methodist Church, Yeovil in June.

In July, the Bath Forum was packed for a joint concert with the fabulous ACM Gospel Choir with ACM'S Mark De-Lisser. In August the choir supported the Golden-Oldies Charity, topping the bill at a concert in Bath hosted by local MP Don Foster. Then came the visit to Cornwall with two memorable concerts and also a performance at the Eden Project singing in a packed dome! This was followed by a sell-out concert at Melksham which raised £4,500 for the Dorothy House Hospice. On October 24th the choir traveled to Leicester to perform at a packed St James Church in the centre of the City, a concert hosted by the Chanterelles choir.

Bath Male Choir ended 2009 singing in London at St John’s Smith Square, on December 11th supporting The Prostate Cancer Charity. Clive Anderson introduced the concert which was a memorable night for the 70 members of the Choir who took part.
